Transportation:  Our Welcome Drivers can take you to local shopping areas and nearby attractions. We try to provide transportation for seafarers Monday through Friday, 10:00 to 15:00.  It is best to  contact us to organize a ride in advance, since we have limited vans and drivers.​ Hospitality  The International Maritime Center is located within the Port of Oakland at Berth 40.  We are located in a small, lovely park with walking trails and grassy areas to sit, stretch and do light exercises.  The Center is open to all seafarers where we offer free WiFi, comfortable seating areas to rest, read or play board games, as well as a chapel area for quiet reflection. We are open periodically throughout the week.  Please call ahead of time if you would like to visit, so we can ensure a staff member is present.  ​We also keep a supply of useful items available for free at the Center, including warm clothing (hats, scarves, sweaters, etc.), personal toiletries (shampoo, shaving cream, toothpaste, ...), sanitary products for women, books, games, and snacks. You are welcome to visit and take a few items.  Our Ship Visits Teams also distribute Welcome Bags during their visits to the ships. Package Assistance: Seafarers’ Ministry of the Golden Gate (SMGG) is pleased to assist seafarers with Package Assistance on a very limited basis.  Ministry:   Through our network of partners and affiliates SMGG-at-the-IMC is able to offer a number of religious services which may be held at our center or aboard your vessel.​ We want you to feel welcome here.
